Volunteer Pollworkers Needed for Spring 2010 Neighborhood Council Elections

December 24, 2009

Update:  Volunteer pollworkers may now volunteer within their "home" Region, but not at the polling place for the Neighborhood Council in which they will be voting.

From March to June 2010, elections will be held for the 89 Neighborhood Councils (NCs) throughout the City of Los Angeles.  For these elections, the City Clerk has divided the City into nine Regions, each including eight to twelve Neighborhood Councils. The election for each Region is on a different day and date during the period from March to June.  A map of the NC Election Regions is available on the City Clerk's website, and a list of election dates is also available.

The Los Angeles City Clerk's Office is looking for volunteer pollworkers for these elections.  One requirement for the volunteers is that they only work at polling places outside the Neighborhood Council area in which they intend to vote.  The election date for Region E, including MCWCC, is Thursday May 13, 2010.  MCWCC stakeholders may volunteer in Region E, but not for the MCWCC election itself.    (Note, however, that you'll want to arrange your schedule so that you can vote in the MCWCC election.)
