The Public Safety Committee is dedicated to fostering a safe, welcoming, and resilient community for all who live, work, and visit Mid City West. We partner with residents, local businesses, law enforcement, and city agencies to identify concerns, promote proactive solutions, CERT train, and strengthen neighborhood trust.

Our mission is to:

  •     Create open and respectful spaces for community voices to be heard.

  •     Support initiatives that improve safety, preparedness, and well-being.

  •     Build strong partnerships that encourage collaboration and accountability.

  •    Share timely information and resources that empower our neighbors to stay informed and engaged.

Together, we believe public safety is not just about response—it’s about prevention, connection, and care for one another, working together to keep Mid City West safe, connected, and prepared.

This committee generally meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM. Please check specific calendar events to determine if meetings will be in person or virtual.

Wednesday Melrose Walks Return!

The MCWCC Public Safety Committee is pleased to announce our Wednesday Walks are back and coming to the Pan Pacific Park area!

Our new meeting spot is located on the corner of Spaulding & Waring Street at 6pm, starting Wednesday, September 24, 2025

Wednesday Walks' is a collaborative initiative to bring neighbors together in an informal venue to discuss issues of common concern related to public safety and crime, or just enjoy a neighborhood stroll in the safety of a group.

Come meet and engage with your neighborhood council and other invited guests from agencies such as LAPD Senior Lead Officers, Community Emergency Response Team members, and Council District 5 field representatives. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and/or wearing reflective clothing for better visibility. Strollers, seniors, and dog walkers are welcome to join!.
